Hexcel Structures Orders Metron G2 Laser Scanner for 3D Verification of Composite Parts
SEATTLE, Wash. May 15, 2006 —
Hexcel Structures, a leading manufacturer of aerospace components, has ordered a laser scanning system from Metron Systems. The system will allow Hexcel to rapidly verify the 3-dimentional quality of composite parts, thereby decreasing inspection time and increasing the quality of the company's manufacturing processes.
According to production managers at Hexcel, Metron’s unique combination of accuracy, field-of-view and the ability to measure glossy composite parts, will allow Hexcel to improve efficiency and accuracy plus meet or exceed customer requirements.
