Metron Systems was created in 1997 to address Boeing's emerging need for fast, accurate non-contacting measurement of precision aircraft parts.

The result of Boeing's initiative is Metron's patented optical laser scanning technology, which provides ultra-fast, highly accurate 3D measurement of complex parts with surface finishes ranging from freshly machined to dark paint.

Metron's scanner is used in applications where fast, accurate 3D measurment of complex parts are all critical -- examples include:
